We are currently recruiting a Carpenters with cast-in-place stairs experience to assist our Concrete division with fast-paced, challenging projects (multi-storey, mixed-use, commercial and institutional) that are shaping the Edmonton Skyline!
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications related to cast-in-place concrete stair systems
Lay out, build, and install stair formwork according to engineered drawings
Measure, cut, and assemble wood or engineered forming materials with precision
Ensure proper alignment, dimensions, rise/run consistency, and compliance with building codes
Install temporary bracing and supports to maintain structural integrity during concrete placement
Collaborate with site supervisors, concrete crews, and other trades to coordinate pours
Inspect forms prior to concrete placement and adjust as necessary
Strip forms safely after curing and complete any required finishing adjustments
Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
Follow company safety policies and provincial occupational health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
Journeyperson Carpenter certification or equivalent experience
Experience with cast-in-place concrete forming (stairs preferred)
Strong understanding of stair layout, elevations, and geometry
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Proficient with hand and power tools
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred Skills:
Experience on commercial or multi-family construction projects
Knowledge of building codes related to stair construction
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong teamwork and communication skills
